Job Overview

The Internal Auditor (Manager) will lead and manage the university’s internal audit function, providing independent and objective assurance on the effectiveness of Miva Open University’s governance, risk management, and internal control processes. This position requires a strategic thinker with a strong understanding of audit methodologies and a commitment to upholding the highest ethical standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute comprehensive internal audit plans aligned with the university’s strategic objectives and risk profile.
• Lead and supervise audit teams in conducting financial, operational, and compliance audits.
• Evaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls and recommend improvements to mitigate risks.
• Prepare clear, concise, and actionable audit reports for senior management and the Audit Committee.
• Follow up on audit recommendations to ensure timely and effective implementation.
• Stay abreast of relevant laws, regulations, and best practices in auditing and higher education administration.
• Foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement within the university.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of six (6) years of internal or external audit experience.
• At least two (2) years in a supervisory or managerial audit role.
• Professional certification (ICAN, ACCA, or CIA) is mandatory.
• Proficiency in audit software and data analysis tools.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and auditing standards.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
