Job Overview

The Head, Credit Admin, Documentation and Governance will be responsible for the strategic oversight and day-to-day management of all credit administration, documentation, and governance activities. This includes developing and implementing policies, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and optimizing processes to support the bank’s lending operations and risk management framework.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement comprehensive credit administration, documentation, and governance policies and procedures.
  • Oversee the end-to-end credit documentation process, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
  • Establish and maintain robust governance frameworks for credit operations, aligning with regulatory expectations and best practices.
  • Manage and mentor the credit administration and documentation teams, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders, including legal, compliance, risk, and regulatory bodies.
  • Drive automation and efficiency initiatives within the credit administration and documentation functions.
  • Monitor and report on key performance indicators related to credit administration, documentation, and governance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Law, Business Administration, or a related field; Master’s degree or professional qualification (e.g., ACIB, ACCA) preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in credit administration, documentation, and governance within the financial services industry, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • In-depth knowledge of Nigerian banking regulations, credit laws, and documentation best practices.
  • Proven experience in developing and implementing credit policies and governance frameworks.
  • Strong understanding of credit risk management principles.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in relevant banking software and IT systems.
