Job Overview

The Internal Control & Audit Officer will be instrumental in safeguarding the bank’s assets, ensuring compliance with regulatory frameworks, and promoting operational efficiency. This role involves executing comprehensive audit plans and identifying areas for improvement within Lovonus MFB’s operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute internal audit plans in accordance with regulatory requirements and best practices.
  • Assess the adequacy and effectiveness of internal control systems across all operational areas.
  • Conduct financial, operational, and compliance audits to identify risks and control weaknesses.
  • Prepare detailed audit reports with clear findings, recommendations, and action plans.
  • Follow up on audit recommendations to ensure timely and effective implementation.
  • Monitor adherence to policies, procedures, and regulatory guidelines, including those from the Central Bank of Nigeria.
  • Contribute to the development and enhancement of internal control policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Professional certification such as ACA, ACCA, or CIA is highly desirable.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in internal audit or control functions, preferably within the financial services sector.
  • In-depth knowledge of Nigerian financial regulations, including BOFIA and MFB frameworks.
  • Proficiency in audit methodologies and techniques.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
