Job Overview

The Internal Auditor will be responsible for independently assessing the effectiveness of internal controls, risk management, and governance processes across all departments of O.K. Isokariari & Sons (Nigeria) Limited. This role involves planning and executing audits to ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements, thereby safeguarding company assets and enhancing operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute comprehensive audit plans, including financial, operational, and compliance audits.
  • Evaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of internal control systems and recommend improvements.
  • Identify and assess risks, and propose mitigation strategies to management.
  • Conduct thorough investigations into suspected fraud, irregularities, or policy violations.
  • Prepare detailed audit reports, highlighting findings, conclusions, and recommendations.
  • Follow up on the implementation of audit recommendations to ensure corrective actions are taken.
  • Stay abreast of relevant industry best practices and regulatory changes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Professional certification such as ACA, ACCA, or CIA is highly desirable.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in internal audit, preferably within the EPC sector or a similar industry.
  • Strong understanding of auditing principles, accounting standards, and Nigerian regulatory frameworks.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
  • Proficiency in audit software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
