Job Overview
The Terminal Accountant will be responsible for overseeing all accounting functions at the Ajah Terminal, ensuring accurate financial record-keeping, timely reporting, and adherence to company policies and procedures. This position requires a proactive individual with a strong understanding of accounting principles and practical experience in a logistics or similar operational environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily financial transactions, including accounts payable and receivable.
- Reconcile bank statements and general ledger accounts.
- Prepare and analyze financial reports for terminal management and head office.
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting for the Ajah Terminal.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and regulatory requirements.
- Process payroll and manage staff reimbursements.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and reconcile with financial data.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Proven experience as an Accountant, preferably in the logistics or transportation industry.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Professional certification (e.g., ICAN, ACCA) is an added advantage.
