Job Description
Five Teams Empowerment Initiative (5TEi) is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Finance Officer to join our dynamic team in Nigeria. As a frontline NGO committed to humanitarian and development work across multiple states, with a strong presence in Northeastern Nigeria, we require a skilled finance professional to support our operations across healthcare, nutrition, livelihood, education, and water sanitation sectors.
Job Overview
The Finance Officer will be responsible for managing financial operations, ensuring compliance with donor requirements, and supporting the organization’s mission to build resilient and responsive communities. This role is critical to maintaining financial integrity and accountability across all 5TEi programs and projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day financial transactions, accounts payable, and receivable processes
- Prepare and reconcile financial statements and reports for internal and external stakeholders
- Monitor budget execution and provide variance analysis to program teams
- Ensure compliance with donor regulations and organizational financial policies
- Support audit processes and maintain accurate financial records
- Process employee payroll and benefits administration
- Assist in grant management and financial proposal development
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Minimum 3 years of financial management experience in NGO or humanitarian settings
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong knowledge of donor compliance requirements
- Excellent organizational and analytical skills
- Professional certification (ACCA, ICAN) is an advantage
