As a Boutique Accountant, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the financial integrity and operational efficiency of our upscale boutique environment, ensuring seamless financial transactions and accurate record-keeping in alignment with luxury retail standards.

Job Overview

The Boutique Accountant will be responsible for overseeing all day-to-day accounting activities within a Polo Avenue boutique. This includes managing sales transactions, inventory adjustments, petty cash, and contributing to overall financial reporting. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of accounting principles, exceptional attention to detail, and a professional demeanor suited to a luxury retail setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Process and reconcile daily sales transactions, including cash, card payments, and other payment methods.
• Manage and maintain petty cash records, ensuring accuracy and adherence to company policies.
• Assist with inventory reconciliation and stock takes, identifying and investigating discrepancies.
• Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly financial reports to management.
• Handle customer-related financial inquiries and resolve discrepancies promptly.
• Ensure compliance with all internal financial controls and procedures.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Proven experience as an Accountant or in a similar financial role, preferably within retail.
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
• High level of integrity and discretion.
• Familiarity with the luxury retail sector is an advantage.
