Job Overview

The Accountant (Financial Reporting) will be instrumental in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and timely dissemination of financial information for Petrogap Oil and Gas Limited. This role demands a strong understanding of accounting principles, regulatory compliance, and the ability to translate complex financial data into actionable insights.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
• Manage the general ledger and maintain accurate financial records.
• Assist with the preparation of budgets and forecasts.
• Perform financial analysis and provide insights to support decision-making.
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts and resolve discrepancies.
• Support internal and external audits.
• Contribute to process improvements within the finance department.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.
• Professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA) is highly preferred.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in financial reporting, preferably within the Oil & Gas industry.
• Proficiency in IFRS accounting standards.
• Strong knowledge of accounting software and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational abilities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
