Job Overview

The Senior Accountant will be responsible for overseeing and managing all financial accounting operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency. This role demands a thorough understanding of accounting principles and practices, with a focus on supporting strategic financial decision-making within a growing enterprise.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee the general ledger, accounts payable, and accounts receivable functions.
• Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant accounting standards, regulations, and tax laws in Nigeria.
• Develop and implement internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure data integrity.
• Assist in budget preparation and financial forecasting.
• Support internal and external audits.
• Reconcile bank statements and general ledger accounts.
• Provide financial insights and recommendations to management.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Professional accounting certification (e.g., ACA, ACCA).
• Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably within the manufacturing or agricultural sector.
• Strong knowledge of accounting software and ERP systems.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial modeling tools.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Understanding of Nigerian financial regulations and tax laws.
