Job Overview

The Audit/Internal Control Manager will be responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing the bank’s internal audit and control framework. This position requires a strategic thinker with a strong understanding of financial regulations and best practices within the Nigerian mortgage banking sector, dedicated to safeguarding the bank’s assets and ensuring compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and execute comprehensive internal audit plans.
  • Evaluate and enhance internal control systems across all departments.
  • Identify and assess risks, recommending mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and company policies.
  • Prepare detailed audit reports and present findings to senior management.
  • Conduct follow-up audits to ensure corrective actions are implemented.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Professional certification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIA) is essential.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of relevant experience in internal audit or internal control, preferably within the financial services or mortgage banking industry in Nigeria.
  • In-depth knowledge of Nigerian financial regulations and CBN guidelines.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in audit software and Microsoft Office Suite.
