The Impact Investors Foundation (IIF) is seeking a dynamic and experienced Research Lead to join our dedicated team in Nigeria. Established in 2019, IIF is a non-profit organisation committed to fostering and accelerating the impact investment industry across the nation. This role is crucial in driving our mission forward by providing robust data, insightful analysis, and strategic direction for the impact investing ecosystem.

Job Overview

The Research Lead will be responsible for overseeing all research initiatives at IIF, ensuring the generation of high-quality data and actionable insights to inform strategy, policy, and practice within the impact investment sector in Nigeria. This position will play a pivotal role in strengthening IIF’s position as a thought leader and authoritative source of information.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive research agenda aligned with IIF’s strategic objectives.
  • Lead the design, execution, and analysis of research projects focusing on impact investing trends, market data, and policy landscapes in Nigeria.
  • Manage data collection, analysis, and interpretation, utilizing appropriate methodologies and tools.
  • Produce high-quality research reports, publications, and presentations for diverse audiences, including investors, policymakers, and practitioners.
  • Stay abreast of global and local developments in impact investing and sustainable development.
  • Mentor and guide junior research staff and manage external research consultants.
  • Collaborate with IIF’s programs, communications, and policy teams to translate research findings into practical applications.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree or higher in Economics, Finance, Development Studies, Public Policy, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant research experience, with a focus on financial markets, development economics, or impact investing.
  • Proven ability to lead research projects from conception to completion.
  • Strong quantitative and qualitative research skills, with proficiency in statistical software and data analysis techniques.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and concisely.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the Nigerian economic and development context.
  • Experience working in or with non-profit organisations or development agencies is an advantage.
