Job Overview

The Field Verification/Recovery Officer will be responsible for conducting on-site verification of applicant information and managing the recovery process for delinquent loans within designated geographical areas in Nigeria. This role requires strong interpersonal skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to navigate challenging situations with professionalism and discretion.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough field verification of borrower information, including employment, residence, and collateral, as per company guidelines.
  • Investigate and gather information to assess the likelihood of loan repayment.
  • Implement effective strategies for the recovery of overdue loan amounts.
  • Communicate with borrowers in a professional and empathetic manner to negotiate repayment plans.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of all field visits, verification outcomes, and recovery efforts.
  • Report on recovery progress and identify potential risks or challenges.

    • Requirements

  • Proven experience in a field verification or debt recovery role, preferably within the financial services sector in Nigeria.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Strong understanding of local geographical areas and community dynamics.
  • Possession of a valid driver’s license and a reliable means of transportation is advantageous.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; further education in a relevant field is a plus.
