The Finance and Administration Manager will lead financial oversight and administrative coordination for the Support to Malaria Elimination Project in Kogi State. Responsibilities of the Finance and Administration Manager

Grants Management and Budgeting

The Finance and Administration Manager will oversee donor financial reporting and project budget monitoring.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Preparing and coordinating donor financial reports and ensuring timely submission
  • Tracking project expenditure against approved budgets and providing financial analysis
  • Developing budget monitoring tools for project implementation
  • Coordinating financial discussions with program teams to address budget variances
  • Preparing cash projections and reviewing financial transactions and journals
  • Supporting grant closure processes and financial documentation

Compliance and Financial Governance

Ensuring compliance with donor and organizational policies is a critical responsibility of the role.

Responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring compliance with Famkris and donor financial regulations and procedures
  • Serving as the focal point for grant compliance matters
  • Maintaining financial documentation for internal and external audits
  • Building staff capacity on donor financial management and compliance standards

Receivables and Payables Management

Responsibilities include:

  • Monitoring staff and vendor advances and ensuring timely liquidation
  • Conducting ageing analysis of receivables and payables
  • Ensuring statutory payments are correctly calculated and remitted to regulatory bodies
  • Maintaining minimal outstanding payable balances

Financial Information Management

The Finance and Administration Manager will ensure accurate financial records and reporting.

Responsibilities include:

  • Posting financial transactions accurately in QuickBooks
  • Reviewing the general ledger, trial balance, and financial reports regularly
  • Ensuring proper documentation for all financial transactions
  • Implementing cost allocation policies according to organizational regulations

Administrative Oversight

Requirements for the Finance and Administration Manager Job in Kogi State

Candidates interested in this position should meet the following qualifications and experience requirements:

  • Chartered Accountant qualification is required
  • Minimum of 10 years professional experience in finance or accounting
  • At least seven years experience working on donor funded or multilateral projects in Nigeria or Africa
  • Strong knowledge of financial management, accounting, auditing, and internal controls
  • Experience working with donor compliance frameworks. Knowledge of Global Fund policies is an advantage
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Excel and Word
  • Experience using QuickBooks is an added advantage
  • Demonstrated experience supervising staff and managing teams
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and problem solving skills
  • Ability to travel when required
