Job Overview

The Senior Programme Associate will play a vital role in supporting the planning, implementation, and monitoring of UNICEF’s programmes in Nigeria, ensuring alignment with country office goals and global strategies. This position requires a proactive and experienced professional dedicated to improving the lives of children and women.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the development and implementation of programme strategies and work plans.
  • Monitor programme activities, track progress against targets, and identify potential challenges.
  • Contribute to the preparation of programme reports, proposals, and other documentation.
  • Facilitate coordination with government counterparts, implementing partners, and other stakeholders.
  • Provide technical assistance and capacity building to national and sub-national partners.
  • Assist in budget monitoring and financial management related to programme activities.
  • Conduct field visits to assess programme implementation and gather feedback.
  • Requirements

  • Advanced university degree in a relevant field (e.g., International Development, Public Health, Social Sciences, Education).
  • A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in programme management, preferably within a UN agency or international NGO.
  • Demonstrated experience in designing, implementing, and monitoring development programmes.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
  • Proficiency in English; knowledge of local Nigerian languages is an asset.
