Health Officer Position

Malteser International seeks a dedicated Health Officer to join our USA headquarters in New York City. As a global humanitarian organization rooted in the Order of Malta’s mission, we respond to health crises and provide medical assistance in underserved communities worldwide. This position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on vulnerable populations across our international network.

Job Overview

The Health Officer will develop, implement, and oversee health programs aligned with Malteser International’s humanitarian mission. Working within our American headquarters, you’ll coordinate medical initiatives, ensure quality healthcare delivery, and strengthen partnerships with our 27 member national associations and priories globally.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and manage health intervention programs in vulnerable communities
• Coordinate with international network partners to assess health needs
• Monitor program effectiveness and ensure compliance with health standards
• Develop health policy recommendations and best practices
• Liaise between headquarters, field operations, and partner organizations

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Public Health, Medicine, or related field
• 5+ years’ experience in humanitarian health programs
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Commitment to humanitarian principles
