Job Overview

As a Farm Technician, you will be instrumental in the daily operations of our farms, contributing to crop cultivation, livestock management, and the implementation of modern farming techniques. You will work closely with our agricultural team to ensure the efficient and effective running of our farming activities.

Key Responsibilities

* Assist in the planning, planting, and harvesting of various crops according to established schedules and best agricultural practices.
* Perform routine maintenance and operation of farm machinery, equipment, and irrigation systems, ensuring they are in good working order.
* Monitor crop health, identify pests and diseases, and implement appropriate control measures under the guidance of agricultural specialists.
* Contribute to livestock management, including feeding, watering, health monitoring, and maintaining clean living conditions.
* Participate in data collection and record-keeping related to planting, yields, livestock, and operational costs.
* Implement and adhere to safety protocols and procedures on the farm to ensure a secure working environment.
* Assist in the preparation of land for cultivation, including tilling, fertilizing, and soil amendment.
* Support the implementation of new agricultural technologies and innovative farming methods as directed.

Requirements

* A proven interest and practical experience in general farming operations.
* Basic understanding of crop cultivation, soil management, and pest/disease identification.
* Ability to operate and maintain basic farm tools and equipment safely and efficiently.
* Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions and perform physically demanding tasks.
* Strong attention to detail and a commitment to following instructions and procedures.
* Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
* A vocational certificate or diploma in Agriculture, Agronomy, or a related field is an advantage, but not strictly required for candidates with demonstrable practical experience.
