Mercy Corps is seeking a dynamic Communication and Learning Consultant to join our team in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Job Overview

The Communication and Learning Consultant will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies that enhance internal and external communication, document and share program learnings, and build capacity in communication and learning practices across Mercy Corps Malaysia. This role will support evidence-based decision-making and promote knowledge exchange to improve program effectiveness and impact.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute communication strategies to effectively convey program achievements, impact, and lessons learned to diverse audiences.
  • Design and facilitate learning events, workshops, and knowledge-sharing sessions for program teams and stakeholders.
  • Support the documentation and dissemination of best practices, case studies, and innovative approaches from ongoing projects.
  • Build the capacity of program staff in communication techniques, storytelling, and knowledge management.
  • Contribute to the development of communication materials, including reports, presentations, and digital content.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of communication and learning initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, International Development, Social Sciences, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in communication, knowledge management, and/or learning facilitation within the development sector.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling narratives.
  • Experience in designing and delivering training programs or workshops.
  • Familiarity with participatory approaches to learning and communication.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multicultural environment.
