Job Overview

The Account Assistant role is a critical component of our financial team, responsible for providing administrative support to ensure the smooth operation of our accounting functions. As an Account Assistant, you will be tasked with assisting in the preparation of financial statements, managing accounts payable and receivable, and maintaining accurate financial records. You will work closely with our accounting team to ensure compliance with financial regulations and company policies, while also providing excellent customer service to our internal stakeholders. Your attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to work under pressure will be essential in this fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

* Assist in the preparation of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements
* Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely payment and reconciliation of invoices
* Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including ledgers, journals, and spreadsheets
* Provide administrative support to the accounting team, including data entry, filing, and document scanning
* Assist in the preparation of budget reports, forecasts, and financial analysis
* Reconcile accounts, identify discrepancies, and resolve any issues that may arise
* Develop and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders, including management, sales, and operations teams
* Ensure compliance with financial regulations, company policies, and procedures

Requirements

* Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
* At least 2 years of experience in an accounting or finance role, preferably in the hospitality or food services industry
* Proficiency in financial software, including accounting packages and spreadsheets
* Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
* Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and maintain confidentiality
* Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to prioritize tasks effectively
* Professional certification, such as ACA, ACCA, or CIMA, is an added advantage
