Job Overview

The Static Engineer will be responsible for the maintenance, inspection, and upkeep of all static equipment within Siperco Nigeria Limited’s manufacturing facilities. This includes ensuring the structural integrity, safety, and optimal performance of tanks, vessels, piping systems, and other non-moving equipment critical to our production processes. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in preventing equipment failures, optimizing asset lifespan, and contributing to a safe and productive working environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct routine inspections and assessments of static equipment, identifying potential defects or areas requiring attention.
  • Develop and implement maintenance schedules for static equipment, including preventative and corrective actions.
  • Perform or oversee repairs and modifications to static equipment in compliance with industry standards and company policies.
  • Ensure adherence to all safety regulations and environmental standards related to static equipment operation and maintenance.
  • Maintain accurate records of all inspections, maintenance activities, and equipment history.
  • Collaborate with production and other engineering teams to minimize downtime and optimize equipment performance.
  • Provide technical support and guidance on static equipment issues.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Proven experience as a Static Engineer or in a similar role within a manufacturing environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of static equipment types, materials, and failure modes.
  • Familiarity with relevant engineering codes, standards, and best practices (e.g., API, ASME).
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, P&IDs, and technical specifications.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Experience with NDT methods is a plus.
