Job Overview

The Medical Consultant & Specialist / Head of Clinical Department (Internal Medicine) will oversee all aspects of the Internal Medicine department at Enugu International Hospital. This leadership role requires a physician with exceptional clinical expertise, strong leadership capabilities, and a commitment to fostering a culture of excellence in patient care, research, and education. The successful candidate will be instrumental in establishing and maintaining the highest standards of internal medicine practice.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide expert clinical care to patients within the Internal Medicine department.
• Lead, mentor, and manage the Internal Medicine physician and support staff.
• Develop and implement clinical protocols, guidelines, and best practices.
• Ensure the highest quality of patient safety and outcomes.
• Contribute to departmental strategic planning and operational efficiency.
• Foster a collaborative environment with other clinical departments.
• Participate in medical education and training initiatives.
• Oversee the management of departmental resources and budget.
• Stay abreast of advancements in Internal Medicine and integrate them into practice.

Requirements

• Full registration with the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN).
• Fellowship of the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria or equivalent in Internal Medicine.
• Minimum of 7-10 years of post-fellowship clinical experience.
• Proven experience in a leadership or departmental head role is highly desirable.
• Excellent diagnostic, therapeutic, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and team leadership abilities.
