Job Overview
As a Staff Software Engineer on the UI Foundations Team, you will lead the design and implementation of core frontend systems, component libraries, and design infrastructure that enable Amplitude's product teams to build exceptional user experiences. You'll work at the intersection of engineering excellence and product impact, influencing technical direction while mentoring engineers and establishing best practices across the organization.Key Responsibilities
- Design and evolve foundational UI systems, component architecture, and developer tooling
- Lead technical initiatives that improve developer productivity and code quality across frontend teams
- Mentor engineers and conduct code reviews to maintain high engineering standards
- Collaborate with product and design teams to ensure UI foundations support business objectives
- Establish patterns, documentation, and best practices for frontend development
Requirements
- 8+ years of software engineering experience with 4+ years in frontend/UI development
- Demonstrated expertise in modern JavaScript frameworks and component-based architecture
- Experience designing and scaling developer tools or design systems
- Strong technical leadership and communication skills
- Track record of mentoring engineers and driving technical excellence
