Job Overview
The Senior Accountant will be responsible for overseeing and managing the accounting operations of Bons Industries Limited's Enugu branch. This includes ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records, contributing to financial planning, and supporting strategic decision-making.Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger functions.
- Prepare and analyze financial statements and reports in accordance with accounting principles.
- Oversee budgeting and forecasting processes.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant tax regulations and statutory requirements.
- Develop and implement internal controls to safeguard company assets.
- Reconcile bank statements and other financial accounts.
- Assist with audits and provide necessary documentation.
- Mentor and guide junior accounting staff.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA) is highly preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong understanding of IFRS and Nigerian tax laws.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
