Job Overview
The International Accountants will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy, compliance, and efficiency of financial operations within Trócaire's projects in Kenya. This roving position requires adaptability and a strong understanding of international accounting standards and donor requirements.Key Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee project financial records and transactions.
- Ensure compliance with Trócaire's financial policies and procedures, as well as donor regulations.
- Prepare financial reports, budgets, and forecasts.
- Conduct financial reviews and provide recommendations for improvement.
- Support audits and ensure timely submission of financial documentation.
- Provide financial training and capacity building to local staff.
- Monitor and manage cash flow and expenditure.
Requirements
- Professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA, CPA, CIMA).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting, preferably within the NGO sector or international development.
- Strong knowledge of IFRS and relevant accounting software.
- Experience with donor-funded projects (e.g., USAID, EU, DFID).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to travel extensively within Kenya.
- Proficiency in English; knowledge of Swahili is an asset.
