Job Overview
The Head, Core Banking Operations will be responsible for the strategic leadership and day-to-day management of all core banking operations functions. This role is critical in ensuring the stability, efficiency, and security of UP®'s payment processing systems and services, supporting our vision of becoming the leading e-payment service provider in Africa.Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage all core banking operations, including transaction processing, settlement, reconciliation, and liquidity management.
- Develop and implement operational strategies to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve service delivery.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
- Lead and mentor a high-performing operations team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
- Manage relationships with banking partners and other stakeholders to ensure seamless service integration.
- Implement and maintain robust risk management frameworks and disaster recovery plans for core banking systems.
- Drive innovation and technological advancements within core banking operations.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Banking, Finance, or a related field. A Master's degree or relevant professional certification is a plus.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in core banking operations, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- In-depth knowledge of payment systems, financial technologies, and regulatory landscapes in Nigeria and Africa.
- Proven track record of managing complex operational environments and large-scale transaction processing.
- Strong understanding of IT infrastructure, cybersecurity, and data management principles.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and execute strategic initiatives.
