Job Overview
The Deputy Country Director will work closely with the Country Director to ensure the effective and efficient implementation of Solidarités International’s programs and operations in Malaysia. This includes contributing to strategic planning, program development, financial management, and team leadership, while upholding the organization's values and mandate.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Country Director in the overall management and strategic direction of the mission.
- Oversee the implementation and monitoring of humanitarian projects, ensuring adherence to quality standards and donor requirements.
- Contribute to the development of new project proposals and fundraising strategies.
- Manage and mentor national and international staff, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
- Ensure compliance with all internal policies, procedures, and donor regulations.
- Represent Solidarités International in relevant forums and with key stakeholders, including government authorities and other humanitarian actors.
- Assist in financial oversight, budget monitoring, and reporting.
- Contribute to the assessment of humanitarian needs and the development of response strategies.
Requirements
- Master's degree in International Relations, Development Studies, Humanitarian Action, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in humanitarian program management, with at least 2 years in a management or coordination role.
- Proven experience in project cycle management, including design, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation.
- Strong understanding of humanitarian principles and international humanitarian law.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
- Proficiency in English; knowledge of local languages is an asset.
- Ability to work effectively in a multicultural and challenging environment.
- Experience in fundraising and donor relations is desirable.
