Job Overview
CPJ is seeking experienced professionals to join its Europe and Central Asia Programme. These remote roles will focus on advancing press freedom and supporting journalists in the region. Successful candidates will contribute to CPJ's research, advocacy, and programmatic initiatives.Key Responsibilities
- Conduct in-depth research on press freedom violations and trends in Europe and Central Asia.
- Develop and implement advocacy strategies to protect journalists and their rights.
- Monitor and report on media freedom issues, including legislative changes and attacks on journalists.
- Engage with journalists, civil society organizations, and international bodies.
- Contribute to CPJ's public communications and media engagement efforts.
Requirements
- Proven experience in journalism, media freedom, human rights, research, or advocacy.
- Strong understanding of the political and media landscape in Europe and Central Asia.
- Excellent research, analytical, and writing skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage multiple projects.
- Fluency in English; knowledge of Russian or another relevant regional language is a strong asset.
