Organised by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), the Awards celebrate innovative enterprises across diverse sectors that successfully transform IP assets into commercial and social value.

Award Categories and Recognition
In 2026, 11 enterprises will be recognised, including:
- 10 Awards across all sectors of the economy, including health, agrifood, environment, creative industries, and ICT
- 1 Thematic Award for SMEs in Sports, aligned with the World IP Day 2026 theme
- 2 Special Mentions:
- Best Woman Entrepreneur
- Best Youth Entrepreneur
Evaluation Criteria
Applications will be assessed based on:
- Strength of the business model and IP protection strategy
- Clarity and feasibility of the IP commercialization plan
- Presence of a strong internal IP culture within the organization
- Contribution of the business to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)
Global Visibility and Recognition
- International recognition through the WIPO–UN system
- Invitation to Geneva for the Awards Ceremony during the WIPO Assemblies
- Exposure to global leaders from 194 countries
- International media coverage and promotional materials to enhance brand credibility
Business Acceleration and Mentorship
- Access to an exclusive 2-day workshop on IP and business strategy
- A tailored six-month one-on-one mentorship programme focused on IP asset commercialization

How to Apply for the WIPO Global Awards 2026
Applications are open from 15 January 2026 and close on 31 March 2026 at 23:59 Central European Time (CET).
