Job Overview

Turnitin is looking for an experienced Senior Software Quality Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this remote role, you will be instrumental in defining and implementing quality assurance strategies, designing and executing comprehensive test plans, and advocating for best practices across the software development lifecycle. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality, robust, and scalable software.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and execute manual and automated test cases to validate software functionality and performance.
  • Identify, document, and track software defects with clear and concise bug reports.
  • Collaborate with development teams to understand product requirements and technical designs.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of QA processes and methodologies.
  • Mentor junior QA engineers and promote knowledge sharing within the team.
  • Participate in code reviews and advocate for quality throughout the development process.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in software quality assurance, with a strong understanding of QA methodologies and best practices.
  • Proficiency in test automation frameworks and tools (e.g., Selenium, Cypress, Playwright).
  • Experience with API testing and performance testing tools.
  • Strong understanding of SDLC and Agile development methodologies.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a remote environment.
