Clear Solutions is a dynamic non-profit organization committed to saving young lives in Nigeria by tackling the devastating impact of childhood diarrhoea. We partner with the primary healthcare system to enhance access to and awareness of critical, cost-effective treatments like Oral Rehydration Solution (ORS) and Zinc. Our impactful work, particularly our collaboration with Community Health Workers to provide free ORS to parents, aims to prevent over 90% of diarrhoea-related deaths in children under five. We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Software Engineer to join our team in Nigeria and contribute to our life-saving mission.

Job Overview

The Senior Software Engineer will be instrumental in developing and maintaining innovative software solutions that support Clear Solutions’ operations, data management, and impact measurement in Nigeria. This role requires a proactive individual capable of designing, implementing, and optimizing robust and scalable software applications in a challenging, mission-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy high-quality software applications using modern programming languages and frameworks.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and translate them into effective technical solutions.
• Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications.
• Implement and manage databases, ensuring data integrity and security.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade existing systems.
• Contribute to architectural decisions and technical strategy.
• Mentor junior engineers and foster a culture of technical excellence.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven experience as a Senior Software Engineer or in a similar role.
• Proficiency in one or more relevant programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, JavaScript).
• Experience with database design and management (e.g., SQL, NoSQL).
• Strong understanding of software development principles, methodologies, and best practices.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Previous experience working in a non-profit or development sector is a plus.
