As the team builds out its AI capabilities, they’re looking for a Senior AI Engineer to design and run the intelligent systems at the heart of that work.

Job Overview

This is a hands-on engineering role focused on building and operating AI systems on Microsoft Azure. You’ll work with large language models, conversational agents, and end-to-end AI pipelines, handling text, documents, images, and audio to deliver solutions that are accurate, scalable, and production-ready. You’ll also mentor junior engineers and contribute to a team culture that takes AI engineering seriously.

Key Responsibilities

• Build AI applications using Azure OpenAI, Azure Cognitive Search, and Azure Speech.
• Design and maintain LLM-based agents and AI workflows that perform reliably in production.
• Handle large documents, text, and voice data, ensuring AI outputs are accurate and fit for purpose.
• Optimise AI systems for speed, cost, and reliability across different deployment scenarios.
• Work closely with other teams to understand requirements and translate them into well-designed AI solutions.
• Write clean, maintainable Python code that the rest of the team can build on.
• Mentor junior engineers and actively share knowledge across the team.

Required Skills

• 3+ years of software engineering experience, with 2 to 3+ years specifically working with AI or LLM-based systems.
• Hands-on experience with Azure OpenAI and Azure Cognitive Services in real production environments.
• Strong knowledge of agent systems, RAG pipelines, embeddings, and prompt engineering.
• Experience with document processing, OCR, image analysis, and audio processing.
• Good problem-solving instincts and the ability to troubleshoot complex, multi-component AI systems.

Nice to Have

• Experience with Arabic NLP or other morphologically complex languages.
• Experience with Azure Speech for speech-to-text and text-to-speech workflows.
• Familiarity with Semantic Kernel or the Azure Agent Framework.
• Experience with Azure DevOps and CI/CD pipelines.
