Job Overview

The Secondary School History Teacher will be responsible for delivering engaging and comprehensive history instruction to students, fostering critical thinking skills, and preparing them for academic success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement dynamic lesson plans aligned with the Nigerian curriculum and school-specific objectives.
  • Deliver engaging lectures, facilitate discussions, and utilize diverse teaching methodologies to cater to varied learning styles.
  • Assess student progress through regular assignments, projects, and examinations, providing constructive feedback.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages intellectual curiosity and respect for diverse perspectives.
  • Integrate relevant historical resources, including primary and secondary sources, into the curriculum.
  • Supervise students during school activities and excursions related to history.

    • Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in History or a related discipline from a reputable institution.
  • A Post-Graduate Diploma in Education (PGDE) or a Master’s degree in Education is highly desirable.
  • Proven experience teaching History at the secondary school level.
  • In-depth knowledge of Nigerian history and global historical contexts.
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in using educational technology.
