Job Overview

The School Gardener will be responsible for the planning, implementation, and maintenance of all garden and grounds areas within RESL’s schools. This role is crucial in creating an aesthetically pleasing and functional outdoor learning environment for students and staff.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, plant, and maintain flower beds, shrubs, trees, and vegetable gardens.
• Implement watering, fertilizing, and pest control strategies.
• Ensure all garden tools and equipment are kept clean, maintained, and stored safely.
• Manage waste disposal from garden activities.
• Advise on suitable plant selections for the local climate and school needs.
• Assist in the preparation of outdoor spaces for school events.

Requirements

• Proven experience in horticulture or professional gardening.
• Knowledge of plant care, soil management, and pest control.
• Ability to operate and maintain gardening equipment.
• Physical fitness and ability to perform manual labour.
• Strong observational skills and attention to detail.
