Internal Auditor – Association for Reproductive and Family Health (ARFH) | Nigeria

The Association for Reproductive and Family Health (ARFH) is seeking a diligent and experienced Internal Auditor to join our team in Nigeria. Job Overview

The Internal Auditor will be responsible for independently assessing the effectiveness of ARFH’s internal control systems, risk management processes, and governance structures across all operational areas. This role is critical in ensuring financial integrity, operational efficiency, and compliance with organizational policies and donor requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive audits of financial records, programs, and operational procedures.
  • Evaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls and recommend improvements.
  • Identify areas of risk and develop strategies to mitigate them.
  • Ensure compliance with ARFH policies, donor guidelines, and relevant regulations.
  • Prepare detailed audit reports, including findings, recommendations, and management action plans.
  • Follow up on the implementation of audit recommendations.
  • Provide advisory services to management on internal control matters.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Professional certification such as ACA, ACCA, CPA, or equivalent is highly desirable.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience in internal audit, preferably within the non-profit or development sector.
  • Strong understanding of auditing principles, accounting standards, and internal control frameworks.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and audit software.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and report-writing skills.
  • High level of integrity and objectivity.
