We are seeking a diligent and proactive Recovery Officer to join our team in Nigeria. This role is crucial in ensuring the financial health of our institution by managing and recovering delinquent loan portfolios.

Job Overview

The Recovery Officer will be responsible for implementing effective strategies to recover non-performing loans, minimizing financial losses for the bank, and maintaining positive relationships with clients where possible. This position requires a keen understanding of credit recovery processes and strong interpersonal skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and prioritize overdue loan accounts.
  • Develop and execute tailored recovery plans for each delinquent account.
  • Engage with borrowers to negotiate payment arrangements and solutions.
  • Document all recovery actions and communications accurately.
  • Liaise with legal counsel and external agencies when necessary.
  • Monitor and report on the status of the recovery portfolio.
  • Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in loan recovery or debt collection, preferably within the financial sector.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations pertaining to debt recovery.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
