Job Description
Self Help Africa is seeking a dedicated Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (MEAL) Assistant to support our impactful “Youth in Work” project in Lima, Peru. This role is crucial for ensuring the effective delivery and continuous improvement of our programs, which aim to foster economic empowerment and sustainable livelihoods for young people. You will contribute to our overarching mission of alleviating hunger, poverty, social inequality, and the impacts of climate change by strengthening community-led, market-based approaches to development.
Job Overview
The MEAL Assistant will play a vital role in collecting, analyzing, and reporting on project data, ensuring that our interventions are effective, accountable, and informed by learning. You will work closely with project staff and beneficiaries to gather essential information for program monitoring and evaluation.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in the design and implementation of MEAL tools and methodologies.
Collect and input program data from field activities and stakeholders.
Support the analysis of qualitative and quantitative data.
Contribute to the preparation of regular monitoring reports and updates.
Assist in facilitating learning sessions and feedback mechanisms.
Ensure accountability to beneficiaries and stakeholders through data management.
Maintain organized and accurate project documentation.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Development Studies, Statistics, or a related field.
Proven experience in data collection, management, and analysis.
Familiarity with MEAL principles and practices.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Spanish.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
