We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Officer specializing in Generators (Electrical/Mechanical) to join our dynamic team in Nigeria and ensure the uninterrupted operation of our vital power infrastructure.

Job Overview

The Maintenance Officer (Generators Electrical/Mechanical) will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of all company generators, ensuring reliable power supply for our extensive operations. This role is critical to maintaining productivity and minimizing downtime across our facilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine preventive maintenance on all generators, including oil changes, filter replacements, and battery checks.
• Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults in generator engines, alternators, and control systems.
• Conduct load testing and performance checks to ensure generators are operating optimally.
• Install new generators and associated electrical and mechanical systems.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and logbooks for all generator units.
• Respond promptly to emergency breakdowns and implement effective repair solutions.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies during all maintenance activities.
• Liaise with external service providers and suppliers for specialized repairs or parts.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Generator Technician or similar role, with a strong focus on both electrical and mechanical aspects.
• In-depth knowledge of various generator makes and models, including diesel and petrol engines.
• Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing electrical control panels, wiring, and components.
• Skilled in mechanical repairs, including engine overhauls and component replacements.
• Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams, blueprints, and manuals.
• Relevant technical certification or diploma in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering is an advantage.
• Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
