## Job Overview
As a Health Information Management Officer at Lily Hospitals Limited, you will be instrumental in ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and security of patient health records. You will be responsible for the systematic organization, retrieval, and maintenance of all health information, playing a crucial role in supporting clinical decision-making, research, and administrative processes. This position demands a meticulous individual with a strong understanding of health information management principles and a commitment to upholding patient confidentiality.
## Key Responsibilities
* Manage and maintain patient electronic and paper-based health records, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and adherence to established protocols.
* Implement and oversee systems for the efficient storage, retrieval, and archiving of health information, guaranteeing accessibility for authorized personnel.
* Ensure compliance with all relevant data privacy regulations and hospital policies regarding patient confidentiality and information security.
* Assist clinicians and other healthcare professionals in accessing and utilizing patient information effectively for diagnosis, treatment, and continuity of care.
* Process patient registration and discharge information, accurately entering and verifying data within the hospital’s information system.
* Respond promptly and courteously to requests for patient records from internal departments and authorized external entities.
* Participate in the development and implementation of policies and procedures related to health information management.
* Contribute to quality improvement initiatives by identifying and addressing any discrepancies or issues within the health information system.
## Requirements
* A minimum of an Ordinary National Diploma (OND) in Health Information Management or a related field.
* Proven practical experience in health information management within a healthcare setting.
* Demonstrated experience in customer service, preferably within a hospital or clinic environment, with a focus on patient interaction.
* Proficiency in utilizing health information management software and electronic health record (EHR) systems.
* Strong understanding of medical terminology, coding principles, and healthcare documentation standards.
* Excellent organizational skills, with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team, managing multiple tasks effectively.
