Job Overview

The Gender Equality and Social Inclusion (GESI) Advisor will provide expert guidance and technical support to GIZ projects and programs in Nigeria. This position is crucial for embedding GESI principles throughout the project cycle, from design and implementation to monitoring and evaluation, ensuring that interventions are gender-responsive and socially inclusive.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement GESI strategies and action plans for GIZ projects.
  • Conduct GESI analyses and assessments to identify challenges and opportunities.
  • Provide capacity building and training on GESI to project staff and partners.
  • Advise on the integration of GESI considerations into project design, work plans, and budgets.
  • Monitor and report on GESI-related outcomes and impacts.
  • Engage with stakeholders to promote gender equality and social inclusion.

    • Requirements

  • Advanced degree in Gender Studies, Sociology, Development Studies, International Relations, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in gender equality and social inclusion programming, preferably within the development cooperation sector.
  • Strong understanding of the Nigerian socio-cultural context and its implications for GESI.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Fluency in English; knowledge of local Nigerian languages is an asset.
