Job Overview
The Field Support Engineer (Rigger) will be responsible for the physical installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of telecommunications equipment, including antenna and mast structures, at various remote and urban sites across Nigeria. This role demands strong practical skills, adherence to safety protocols, and the ability to work independently in challenging environments.
Key Responsibilities
Install, maintain, and repair communication towers, masts, and associated rigging equipment.
Perform site surveys and assessments for new installations, considering safety and environmental factors.
Safely erect, dismantle, and inspect rigging and lifting equipment.
Troubleshoot and resolve hardware-related issues for radio and network equipment.
Ensure all work is conducted in strict adherence to health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations.
Document site activities, equipment status, and maintenance records accurately.
Requirements
Proven experience as a Rigger or in a similar field installation role within the telecommunications sector.
Certification in rigging and lifting operations (e.g., CITB, LEEA or equivalent).
Proficiency in using hand and power tools relevant to rigging and installation.
Strong understanding of tower climbing safety and rescue procedures.
Ability to work at heights and in diverse weather conditions.
Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel extensively.
