Job Overview

The Deputy Field Coordinator – Programmes will support the Field Coordinator in the overall management and implementation of Action Against Hunger’s programmes within a designated operational area. This includes ensuring timely and quality delivery of all project activities, fostering strong relationships with stakeholders, and contributing to the strategic direction of the mission.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the Field Coordinator in planning, executing, and monitoring all programme activities.
• Support the supervision and guidance of programme teams to ensure adherence to project goals and standards.
• Contribute to the development of project proposals, reports, and other documentation.
• Facilitate coordination with local authorities, community leaders, and other humanitarian actors.
• Ensure compliance with Action Against Hunger’s policies, procedures, and humanitarian principles.
• Monitor programme progress, identify challenges, and propose mitigation strategies.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as International Development, Public Health, Social Sciences, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in humanitarian programme implementation, preferably in a similar context.
• Strong understanding of humanitarian principles and project management methodologies.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills.
• Proficiency in English; local language skills are an asset.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in challenging environments.
