Job Overview
The Deputy Field Coordinator – Programmes will support the Field Coordinator in the overall management and implementation of Action Against Hunger’s programmes within a designated operational area. This includes ensuring timely and quality delivery of all project activities, fostering strong relationships with stakeholders, and contributing to the strategic direction of the mission.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Field Coordinator in planning, executing, and monitoring all programme activities.
- Support the supervision and guidance of programme teams to ensure adherence to project goals and standards.
- Contribute to the development of project proposals, reports, and other documentation.
- Facilitate coordination with local authorities, community leaders, and other humanitarian actors.
- Ensure compliance with Action Against Hunger’s policies, procedures, and humanitarian principles.
- Monitor programme progress, identify challenges, and propose mitigation strategies.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as International Development, Public Health, Social Sciences, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in humanitarian programme implementation, preferably in a similar context.
- Strong understanding of humanitarian principles and project management methodologies.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in English; local language skills are an asset.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in challenging environments.
