Job Overview
The Area Sales Manager will be responsible for developing and executing strategic sales plans to achieve company objectives, managing a sales team, and ensuring exceptional customer service within their assigned territory. This role requires strong leadership, excellent communication skills, and a deep understanding of the FMCG market in Nigeria.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement regional sales strategies to meet or exceed sales targets.
- Lead, motivate, and manage a team of sales representatives.
- Monitor market trends and competitor activities to identify new business opportunities.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key distributors, retailers, and stakeholders.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and provide coaching to the sales team.
- Manage sales budgets and ensure efficient resource allocation.
- Prepare and present regular sales reports to senior management.
- Ensure effective product distribution and availability within the assigned area.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.
- Proven track record of at least 5 years in sales management, preferably within the FMCG sector in Nigeria.
- Demonstrated success in achieving sales targets and driving revenue growth.
- Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
- Strong understanding of the Nigerian retail and distribution landscape.
- Proficiency in sales forecasting and reporting.
- Ability to travel within the assigned sales territory.
