Job Overview
The Accounting Process and AI Technology Expert will conduct in-depth research, develop actionable insights, and provide advisory services on the strategic application of Artificial Intelligence and advanced technologies within accounting and finance functions. You will be instrumental in helping Gartner clients understand, evaluate, and implement AI solutions to optimize processes, enhance decision-making, and drive business value.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive research on AI technologies, automation, and their impact on accounting processes (e.g., financial close, accounts payable/receivable, internal controls, audit).
Develop insightful research reports, best practice guides, and client presentations.
Provide expert advisory services to Gartner clients, answering specific questions and guiding their AI adoption strategies.
Analyze emerging trends and innovations in accounting technology and AI.
Identify and evaluate leading vendors and solutions in the accounting AI space.
Collaborate with other Gartner research teams to provide a holistic view of financial transformation.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, or a related field; Master’s degree or CPA/CMA preferred.
Proven experience in accounting or finance roles with a strong understanding of accounting processes and principles.
Demonstrated expertise in AI technologies, machine learning, robotic process automation (RPA), and data analytics as applied to finance.
Excellent analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex topics clearly and concisely.
Strong presentation and client-facing advisory skills.
