Job Overview

The Head of Accounts will be responsible for managing all financial transactions, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring compliance with Nigerian regulatory requirements. This role is crucial to the school’s operational efficiency and financial health, requiring strategic oversight of budgeting, payroll, and accounts management.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily accounting operations and financial record-keeping
• Manage accounts payable and receivable processes
• Prepare monthly and annual financial statements and reports
• Supervise payroll administration for all staff members
• Ensure compliance with Nigerian tax and accounting regulations
• Develop and monitor departmental budgets
• Maintain liaison with external auditors and regulatory bodies
• Manage school fees collection and banking procedures

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• Professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, or equivalent)
• Minimum 7 years’ accounting experience in educational institutions
• Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office
• Knowledge of Nigerian tax and regulatory frameworks
• Strong organizational and leadership skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
