Malteser International | USA is seeking a dedicated Wash Technical Officer for a national position. Job Overview

The Wash Technical Officer will be responsible for providing technical expertise and support for water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) projects implemented by Malteser International | USA. This position will contribute to the design, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of WASH initiatives, ensuring adherence to best practices and organizational standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical guidance and support on WASH program design and implementation.
  • Conduct needs assessments and baseline surveys for WASH projects.
  • Develop and review WASH project proposals, budgets, and reports.
  • Oversee the procurement and distribution of WASH-related materials and equipment.
  • Ensure the quality and sustainability of WASH interventions.
  • Train and build the capacity of local staff and partners on WASH principles and practices.
  • Monitor project progress and identify potential challenges, recommending appropriate solutions.
  • Liaise with local communities, government agencies, and other stakeholders on WASH-related matters.
  • Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Public Health, Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Proven experience in WASH program design and implementation, preferably within a humanitarian or development context.
  • Strong understanding of WASH sector standards, guidelines, and best practices.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
