Job Overview

The Assistant Librarian will provide essential support to the University Librarian in the daily operations of the Dominion University Library. This role involves assisting patrons, managing library resources, and contributing to the overall effectiveness of the library in serving the academic community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assisting students, faculty, and staff with library resources and services.
  • Processing new acquisitions and maintaining the library collection.
  • Cataloging and classifying library materials.
  • Assisting with circulation duties, including check-in and check-out.
  • Providing basic research assistance and information literacy support.
  • Maintaining the orderliness and accessibility of library spaces.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Library Science, Information Science, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in library management software.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
