The Danish Refugee Council (DRC) is seeking a dynamic and experienced Chief of Party to lead our operations in Denmark. For over six decades, DRC has been a leading humanitarian organisation, committed to assisting and advocating for refugees, internally displaced persons, and host communities worldwide. This crucial role will drive strategic implementation and operational excellence within our Danish context, ensuring the effective delivery of our mandate.

Job Overview

As Chief of Party, you will provide overall leadership and management for DRC’s programmes and operations in Denmark. You will be responsible for the strategic direction, financial oversight, team management, and stakeholder engagement, ensuring alignment with DRC’s global mission and values.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategic plans to enhance DRC’s impact in Denmark.
  • Oversee the management of all programme activities, ensuring high-quality delivery and adherence to project objectives.
  • Manage budgets, financial reporting, and ensure compliance with donor requirements and DRC policies.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a diverse team of national and international staff.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with government authorities, NGOs, UN agencies, and other key partners.
  • Represent DRC at relevant forums and advocate for refugee and displaced persons’ rights.
  • Requirements

  • Master’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., International Relations, Humanitarian Affairs, Social Sciences).
  • Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in humanitarian or development programme management, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Proven experience in the Danish context or similar European settings is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated success in fundraising, proposal development, and donor relations.
  • Excellent understanding of protection principles and human rights.
  • Fluency in English and Danish; other languages are an asset.
