Stockgap Fuels Limited, a dynamic and growing player in Nigeria’s downstream petroleum sector, is seeking a highly experienced and strategic Chief Security Officer (CSO) to join our leadership team. Based in Nigeria, Stockgap Fuels is dedicated to the reliable distribution of refined petroleum products and Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG), sourcing through international partnerships and strategic alliances with the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation. The CSO will be instrumental in safeguarding our assets, personnel, and operations across the nation.

Job Overview

The Chief Security Officer will be responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing comprehensive security strategies to protect Stockgap Fuels Limited’s assets, employees, and reputation. This senior leadership role requires a proactive and experienced security professional with a deep understanding of the Nigerian operational landscape.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a robust, multi-faceted security strategy aligned with business objectives.
  • Oversee physical security, personnel security, and information security across all company locations.
  • Manage and mitigate security risks, including those related to theft, sabotage, piracy, and political instability.
  • Lead and mentor the security team, fostering a culture of vigilance and professionalism.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with relevant government security agencies and law enforcement.
  • Conduct risk assessments and implement appropriate security measures and protocols.
  • Ensure compliance with all national and international security regulations.
  • Requirements

  • Proven track record of at least 10 years in a senior security leadership role, preferably within the oil and gas sector in Nigeria.
  • Extensive knowledge of security threats and mitigation strategies relevant to Nigeria.
  • Demonstrated experience in crisis management and incident response.
  • Strong understanding of corporate security policies and procedures.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Security Management, Criminal Justice, or a related field; advanced degree or relevant certifications are a plus.
