The North-East Youth Initiative For Development (NEYIF) is seeking a dedicated Logistics Assistant to support our vital humanitarian and development programs across North-East Nigeria. As a National Non-Governmental, Non-Profit organization committed to fostering an all-inclusive society, NEYIF relies on efficient operational support to deliver impactful interventions. This role is crucial in ensuring the smooth flow of resources and personnel to our project sites, directly contributing to our mission.

Job Overview

The Logistics Assistant will play a key role in managing and coordinating logistical activities, including transportation, warehousing, and inventory management. This position demands meticulous attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving within a dynamic humanitarian context.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the planning and execution of transportation for staff, goods, and equipment.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and ensure proper storage of supplies.
  • Support procurement processes by liaising with suppliers and verifying deliveries.
  • Coordinate vehicle maintenance and fuel management.
  • Assist in the preparation of logistical reports and documentation.
  • Provide general administrative support to the logistics department.
  • Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent; further education in logistics or a related field is an advantage.
  • Proven experience in a logistics or administrative support role.
  • Familiarity with inventory management principles.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
