Job Overview
The HSE Officer will be responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing health, safety, and environmental programs and procedures to ensure a safe working environment and compliance with all relevant regulations at IFS operations in Nigeria.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement HSE policies and procedures in alignment with company standards and local legislation.
Conduct regular site inspections and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions.
Organize and deliver HSE training to employees and contractors.
Investigate all incidents and accidents, determining root causes and implementing preventative measures.
Maintain accurate HSE records and prepare comprehensive reports for management review.
Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and promote sustainable practices.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
Proven experience as an HSE Officer, preferably within the facilities management or service industry.
In-depth knowledge of Nigerian HSE laws and regulations.
Strong understanding of risk assessment techniques and safety management systems.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and training skills.
