Job Overview

Jhpiego Nigeria is thrilled to announce three openings for Leadership Capacity Builders, specifically targeting Program Managers within State Ministries of Health. In this vital role, you will be instrumental in assessing, developing, and strengthening the leadership capabilities of key health personnel. Your work will directly contribute to enhancing program implementation, improving health service delivery, and ultimately, making a tangible difference in the lives of communities across Nigeria. Key Responsibilities

* Conduct comprehensive needs assessments to identify specific leadership and management skill gaps among State Ministry of Health Program Managers.
* Design and deliver tailored training programs, workshops, and mentorship initiatives focused on leadership, strategic planning, financial management, and program oversight.
* Develop and implement innovative approaches to build sustainable leadership capacity within state-level health systems.
* Provide ongoing coaching and technical assistance to Program Managers to support the application of learned leadership skills in their daily work.
* Facilitate peer-to-peer learning and knowledge sharing among Program Managers to foster a collaborative leadership environment.
* Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of capacity-building interventions, providing data-driven recommendations for improvement.
* Collaborate with government counterparts, stakeholders, and other partners to ensure alignment and integration of capacity-building efforts with national and state health priorities.
* Contribute to the development of leadership frameworks and tools that can be adopted and scaled by the Ministry of Health.

Requirements

* A Master’s degree in Public Health, Health Administration, Business Administration, Social Sciences, or a related field.
* A minimum of 5-7 years of progressive experience in public health program management, capacity building, or leadership development, preferably within a government or non-governmental organization context.
* Proven experience in designing and delivering adult learning programs, including workshops, training modules, and mentorship.
* Strong understanding of health systems strengthening, public health programming in Nigeria, and the operational realities of State Ministries of Health.
* Excellent facilitation, coaching, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with senior-level professionals.
* Proficiency in conducting needs assessments, developing learning objectives, and evaluating training impact.
* Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and thrive in a dynamic team environment.
